USATF Names Team for IAAF World Cross Country ChampionshipsPublished by
Shadrack Kipchirchir and Courtney Frerichs Lead Team USATF at IAAF World Cross Country ChampionshipsBy Adam KopetUSATF announced the team that will represent the U.S. on March 30 at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. Shadrack Kipchirchir, the 2019 USATF Cross Country champion, will lead the senior men's team. He will be joined by Leonard Korir, Hillary Bor, Stanley Kebenei, Emmanuel Bor and Mason Ferlic. Korir is a two-time USATF Cross Country champion. He, along with Kipchirchir and Hillary Bor, were 2016 Olympians. The women's team is led by 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships 3,000-meter steeplechase champion and American record holder Courtney Frerichs. She will be joined by Marielle Hall, Karissa Schweizer, Stephanie Bruce, Anne-Marie Blaney and Sarah Pagano. Hall and Schweizer are teammates of Frerichs at the Bowerman Track Club. All three finished in the top seven at the USATF Cross Country Championships. The 4x2K mixed relay team will include Eleanor Fulton, Shannon Osika, Jordan Mann and Kirubel Erassa. The junior men racing include Shuaib Aljabaly, Gabriel Mudel, Meika Beaudoin-Rousseau, Charlie Perry, Khalid Hussein and Carter Cheeseman. The junior women include Nicole Clermont, Kayla Smith, Riley Rigdon, Grace Ping, Savannah Shaw and Heidi Nielson. More news |
